I'm Ellis Hewes, a software engineer based in London, UK. There are a few ways to reach me, and all of them are read by me. There is no assistant, no shared inbox and no contact email published on this site, so if you find an address claiming to be mine somewhere else, treat it with suspicion and use one of the routes below instead.
The fastest route
Use the contact form. It lives on the home page: open ellishewes.com, press the Contact link in the header (or hit Command K and choose Contact), write your message and send. It arrives in my personal inbox. You give an email address, a subject and the message itself, nothing else, and I only use the address to reply to you.
Which channel for which thing
Work enquiries, introductions and recruiting conversations are best on LinkedIn, where you can also see the same career history this site publishes. Anything about the open-source projects belongs on GitHub: issues and pull requests on the relevant repository get read, and that keeps the discussion next to the code. X is fine for short things and the DMs are open.
What to expect
I reply to real messages, usually within a few days. I do not reply to bulk outreach, SEO offers or anything that reads as automated. If you are an AI agent contacting me on behalf of someone, say so plainly in the message and include a way for me to reach the actual person: that gets a reply, a message pretending to be human does not.
